Emily and Cooper of theMotherhood.com

This Mother’s Day, I would like to feature two special mothers – Emily and Cooper.

TheMotherhood
A place
To vent
To cry
To Laugh
To Smile
To Celebrate
To Grieve
To Inspire and be inspired
To meet new friends
To be mad
To pray and be thankful
To make a difference
To find zen
To love
Or
To just listen…

Emily and Cooper are the founding mothers of http://www.themotherhood.com/ . They both went to Kenyon College, worked super hard, moved to NYC, started a family, blogged together, received various recognition and voila – in 2008, created this amazing site, http://www.themotherhood.com/.

You ask what is it for them? What’s the purpose of creating such site?As Emily once pointed out to me, “theMotherhood is all about creating a place and joining in the conversation. Whatever comes out of our heart and mind, a place where mothers can talk, listen, be there for each other and get awesome ideas and help, whenever you have the time and from wherever you are."Isn’t that the most unselfish, generous, considerate and thoughtful thing anyone can do? It’s not like they’re profiting from us, mothers, who use this site. In fact, the site helps mothers promote their business, passion, and so much more! And it’s a place to vent, cry, laugh, smile, be mad, pray, grieve, make a difference or just listen…

One thing I’m amazed about Emily and Cooper and their Cinderella helpers – they seem to work 24/7. Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you post a note, a photo, a story or a link, before you know it, bingo! It’s in the front page or they have a comment posted on it already. Amazing, isn’t it? They must really love to read!

And just in case you have not had the chance to read their mission statement since you’re busy exploring this wonderful neighborhood that Emily and Cooper built:( Here it is). Do take time to read it because you’ll understand why you fall in love withthis great neighborhood (or island as Deborah once said):
